My Weim, Smokey, was a rescue. He had been abused and never been on a leash in his life. He pulled so hard on the leash that he pulled me down more times than I can count. He scared me because I could not trust him to not pull me out into the street. We tried everything but nothing worked until we tried the Gentle Leader. It was amazing. My husband and I recently purchased two Gentle Leaders; one for our two-year-old Golden Retriever and one for our five-month-old Yellow Lab. The Golden, who weighs almost ninety pounds, has had major issues with pulling on leashes and actually injured my mother-in-law when the dog pulled her to the ground. We feared that the Yellow would pick up on the bad habits exhibited by her older friend, and we wondered how we would ever get the two of them to walk together nicely.
When doing some research on leash training puppies, the Gentle Leader was mentioned. After reading more about the product, my husband and I decided to give it a try, hoping that, within a few walks, our Golden would learn to behave on the leash. Instead, we weren't even out of our driveway (which is less than a hundred feet long) before we saw a significant improvement in her behavior and our puppy, who has not been leash-trained, was walking perfectly within minutes. By the time our walk was over, we had two fantastic, well-behaved dogs and no sore arms, hands, or shoulders from being yanked around by an over-exuberant Retriever.

I have bred, raised and shown several Great Danes in my life, and recently got the biggest Great Dane I have ever had, at almost 2 years old. She hates leashes and would not obey me at all. She was constantly jumping, so I went out and bought 2 other types of head collars, which did not work. I was not sure if it was the lead, or myself handling improperly. However, today I bought your headcollar with DVD and they are both a god send. The other head collars did not have the clicking mechanism on the bottom, which definitely helps with control and keeping her from jumping. The DVD taught me the correct commands and the correct fitting techniques. I just wanted to thank you very much for this headcollar and DVD, as my Great Dane is now a great companion to have around.

I previously had a 14 year old Lab, and it was always a tug of war to walk him. I decided that when I got the new puppy, I would start early to help him be a better walker. We previously tried praise, obedience classes, a body harness, and even a choke chain but nothing did the trick. My son saw the video for your product at the local pet store and we decided that we had nothing to lose.
Mason took to it immediately. He now knows that when we are putting it on him, he is about to be rewarded with a nice long walk. We have taken him all kinds of places that we never thought we'd be able to before. such as a parade, hiking, the city, and to my son's school. I just had to send an email to you about our walk today. We have a 10 month old yellow lab named Lulu and she is (from what I've been told) a typical yellow lab puppy. We have tried to leash train her for the last three months with NO SUCCESS!!! She would pull, lunge, try to run, the whole nine yards. My wife only outweighs Lulu by 25 lbs, and the battles were always bad. I can't walk Lulu because of a bad shoulder and I was getting ready to find her a new home. Last night when we went to the store, we told the training lady that we wanted to enroll Lulu in obedience school so she could learn how to walk with us. The training instructor told us to get one of your Gentle Leader headcollars and that would do the trick. (Yeah, right!) We did. Tonight, we put the collar on Lulu and she was a little resistant to putting the new collar on, but "allowed" us to do it anyway. We have just returned from the most amazing "WALK" with Lulu that I just had to email you about this product! I AM TOTALLY AMAZED!! Lulu, with a little coaching, has walked with us without pulling, lunging, jumping, etc., for the first time - all in a matter of a couple of minutes. REALLY!! Thank you for this device - I hope everyone who has a "Marley" will get one of these collars and start enjoying their pet again. It has certainly made an astounded believer out of me and my wife!

Three years ago, my husband, then boyfriend, rescued a Lab/Weimaraner mix that someone dropped near his mother's house. She obviously had been on her own for awhile, and we could never get her leash trained, as she fought us at every turn. With her choke collar, she would pull until her eyes popped out, and last week, she jerked me so hard that she hurt my back. I bought a Gentle Leader on Saturday, watched the DVD, and put it on her. She pitched a little bit of a fit, but for the very first time since we brought her home, I was able to walk her down the street. It's amazing. I never believed something would work so quickly! We purchased your Gentle Leader Headcollar reluctantly, as we were concerned that it would be punitive for our Coda. She is a rescue dog who had no discernible training, and although she is only about 14 pounds, she was a nightmare to walk. We watched the excellent DVD first and were able to fit our puppy perfectly in the recommended V shape. After a few moments of pawing at the nose piece, Coda settled in and is walking exactly the way she should. We also are going to use it to minimize her jumping on us and going "wild" when people come in the house. She tends to get extremely overexcited at times; the Gentle Leader puts us in control and allows her to remain calmer. We are glad the trainer at our local Petco recommended your product - I believe it may have saved us a fortune in private training and a number of months of grief!

Wow! I bought a Gentle Leader Headcollar for my 133 pound Rottie/Pit this morning. I watched the video and had him securely in the collar within 30 minutes of getting home. He resisted a bit at first, but within just a few minutes we were on our way. I took him for our very first pleasurable walk and am in awe at how well it went. He is nearly 4 years old and I have struggled with him since he was a pup. I now have a way to take my buddy with me when I want to go somewhere, and I can't thank you enough! I just had to send you an email to thank you for Gentle Leader! Your product has changed my life (and my dogs, too). I have two Australian Shepherds and I could never walk them because they pulled so hard. One time I fell, and that was it! I would not walk them again - until I bought Gentle Leader. My 3 year old Border Collie / Lab, Shadow, is a fantastic companion and friend. She is also the worst leash walker in history and has defeated every attempt I have made to remedy that. Last night I was at Petsmart and the Gentle Leader was recommended by a sympathetic salesperson who witnessed the wrestling match between Shadow and I coming into the store from the car. I purchased it more because of the embarrassment than the thought that it would work. I have tried everything else and nothing has worked at all, why would I believe your product would be any different...right?
This morning I fitted the Gentle Leader to Shadow and off we went for my morning drag...I mean walk, and something AMAZING happened. Shadow was transfixed by the snout strap for a few seconds and then the leash went limp. My first reaction was to reach for her collar because she must have gotten loose, but she was just standing at my side. When I walked she walked with me, and when I stopped she did as well.
We enjoyed our morning walk, something we had both not done before, and I actually had 100% control over my dog without straining, choking, binding, etc. She responded perfectly to the Gentle Leader and I wanted to thank you for giving my family a dog that can be walked by any of us. I have no doubt that my wife and my 8 year old son can safely take Shadow for a walk for the first time since we have had her. I am a veterinarian who works in a veterinary clinic that sells Gentle Leader headcollars. For years I have mentioned this product to clients who are having training issues, but had never used one myself until last year. I just wanted to let you know how impressed I am with this product. I injured my neck and back several years ago and since my dog tends to pull so hard on the leash when we go walking, I was unable to take her on walks for a long period of time. Even after my back healed, I noticed that walking my dog seemed to irritate my back and make it hurt a little again. Thank you so much for the Gentle Leader Headcollar. Our Bluetick hound puppy, Bleu, has grown to 50lbs at 8 mos old and I could no longer control her on our walks. It was affecting our relationship, as well as the amount of exercise she received daily.
Our vet and a friend both suggested the Gentle Leader and I wish I had bought it first, before trying several poor alternatives. Within the first five minutes there was a noticeable change for the better; including under distraction when the neighbor Beagle, Cookie, came by for a visit.
My husband & I can truly walk her with just two fingers, as advertised, and we are all enjoying our walks and each other's company now. She's truly a member of the family and life is much more peaceful and pleasurable, as I'd always hoped it would be.

We bought the Gentle Leader yesterday and after two walks, I feel that this product is a miracle. We have a 70 lb 6 1/2 month old Chesapeake Bay Retriever and he was always pulling us on walks. He didn't like the Gentle Leader at first but he got use to it quickly; I like the fact that he can't pull me and now hopefully my elbow will be saved. I would just like to acknowledge how much easier this collar has made my life! We see better results, and love the fact that your collar is much more humane and efficient. I must say, I am glad to see companies who are attempting to design more humane methods to tackle pulling and other unwanted behavior in dogs. I recently rescued my first dog this summer, a 2 year old Landseer Newfoundland. Abby came to us very unsocialized and could not walk on a leash. Dixie is a 1 year old mutt. She is HIGH energy, a chewer, a strong and bad mannered dog. We have tried a number of products - spending a lot of money - this year trying to find something that would make her behavior tolerable. We purchased the Gentle Leader after seeing it used in an article in Reader's Digest that featured hound like mutts that looked like Dixie that were being used with troubled teenagers. We have 3 children under the age of 12 who cannot walk Dixie because she overpowers them. I can honestly tell you the difference in Dixie's behavior was IMMEDIATE!
I am embarrassed to admit that she needed to be leashed IN the house because she would continually run circles over the furniture and destroy any object she could get her mouth on. For the past 2 days she has enjoyed WALKING in the house leash free. I have noticed a great improvement with her calmness and even noticed she is less "mouthy" with shoes, toys or our hands. We watched your DVD and she enjoyed a long walk yesterday. I noticed with the Gentle Leader she walks by my side, heeling to me, not pulling me forward. I have a 2 year old English Springer Spaniel, Hank. Although our family loves him dearly, walking him (or him pulling us) was awful. No collar, harness, etc. was effective until this past Monday when I purchased the Gentle Leader. Hank was INSTANTLY a different dog!

I have a 3 month old American Pit Bull Terrier named Maya. When we went on walks I used a regular collar for her, but she ended up walking me more than I was walking her. I like to take my daughter for walks in her stroller but it was always very difficult when I took Maya with us because she would tug, pull, twist, and turn....Needless to say, our walks were more work than fun.
I checked out a training book from the library and it featured a section on face collars and how they were very effective with troublesome walkers. I did my research, found your product and bought one. I must say that Maya was not too thrilled for about the first 10 minutes. Once she calmed down I decided to take her for a short walk and WOW! She was fantastic....no pulling, no jumping, no nothing! It was such a pleasure to walk with her rather than against her. Eslie is an English Setter mix from the local Humane Society and was totally out of control when we got her. We didn't know if we could keep her; she was extremely dominant and mouthy. I would like to tell you how WONDERFUL your Gentle Leader Headcollar is. I take my 2 1/2 year old dog, Clover, on daily walks and it has been quite the exercise-for both of us! I started with a regular collar and then used a choke collar and she was still pulling me along and going after little bunnies and squirrels with me following behind. We walk every morning so it was quite the "wake up" walk.
My sister uses a halter for her dog when she walks him and suggested I try it. I purchased the Gentle Leader Headcollar on the recommendation of a very helpful sales clerk. I viewed the video and put the collar on Clover. We practiced inside at first and then the real test - we went for our walk. It was a MIRACLE! She was an angel. I can't believe what a difference the collar made. My husband is also taking her for walks in the evening now because it is such a joy. Your product has been a life safer - for Clover and for us. I have recommended your headcollar to everyone that I know with a dog - it is amazing.

After watching numerous episodes of The Dog Whisperer and attempting to "correct" Chloe every time she pulled on the leash, I started to feel that if anyone were to see me they would think I was being cruel to her. It was exhausting and incredibly frustrating. I am so pleased with the effectiveness of the Gentle Leader and so grateful that I found it. We have an 8 month old Doberman puppy and she was so out of control that we were considering finding another home for her. She jumped, barked, pulled at the leash and was a general pain in the rump. Just wanted to send a note to you all. I bought the Gentle Leader about a month ago. I was skeptical about it because I have tried everything for my dog. I love my Lab but instead of me walking her she would walk me. I bought the Gentle Leader and immediately took it out of its package and put it on my dog. We stepped out of the vehicle and instantly I was able to walk her. She resisted a little but soon found that she would not be able to pull me. On the back of the packaging it states that it only takes minutes for your dog to learn. I found that to be absolutely true. From the moment I put it on her I know longer had problems walking her. This is the best 25 dollars I've spent. I now can take my dog on walks and we can enjoy them together.

I wanted to thank you for making such a fantastic, life altering product for pet parents and their dogs. From Rat Terriers to Great Danes, the Gentle Leader is the most amazing product I've ever seen. I'm a trainer and tonight while I was at the store, a man came in with Mia, a six month old Great Dane. Mia was on a choke chain and a heavy chain leash, and her dad was being pulled around the store. He had the heavy, thick chain leash wrapped around his hand, no doubt digging in as she drug him around. All his yelling at her was to no avail. I asked him if he wanted me to show him something that would change his life. When I put the Gentle Leader on Mia, she suddenly went from a sled dog, to the sweet puppy that she should be. I spent 20 minutes talking to them about the Gentle Leader and positive reinforcement training. They left the store, with the Gentle Leader on her, and a smile on their face. I have a 16 month old, 90 lb black Lab named Bull. His name suits him perfectly. He is headstrong and stubborn. We have tried choke chains and harnesses to no avail. About 6 months ago I bought a prong collar, which worked wonders. He stopped dragging me down the street and I was able to walk with him. Soon though, he got used to the prongs and it no longer phased him. If he saw a squirrel, dog, cat, or a leaf, he pulled and pulled against the prongs. I had seen the Gentle Leader in stores, but wasn't ready to spend that much. Finally, two days ago I did. With the Gentle Leader, Bull now walks in a perfect heel. He no longer takes off after other animals, and people can pet him without him jumping on them. I've told everyone I know that the Gentle Leader was the best $25 I've ever spent. You made a wonderful product for problem dogs, and we just thank you so much for it!

I just wanted to add my story. I recently adopted a 2 year old male Great Dane from a rescue. He's as sweet as can be and, in the house, he walks on my hip constantly...outside is a different story. He weighs about 165 pounds and pulled on lead like he was running
from the devil himself. I was sore and frustrated but, more than anything, concerned about both of our safety if I lost control of him. The woman at the rescue suggested Gentle Leader as a means of helping him to learn leash manners. I admit I was skeptical. It didn't seem like I'd possibly be able to control him with it if he bolted on me, but I tried it anyway. He wasn't pleased at first, but is getting used to the feel of the collar. In just the first walk with the Gentle Leader, the difference was absolutely amazing! For the first time, I came home from our walk feeling great, both emotionally and physically. The Gentle Leader is worth 100 times its weight in gold, as far as I'm concerned. My body and my dog thank you for many more fun and enjoyable walks!!!

I wanted you to know that recently I purchased a Gentle Leader for my Corgi/Beagle mix and boy was I surprised by the instant results. We went for a walk and I had no pulling, no lunging and no fit throwing. In fact, we encountered another dog and even though he barked and tried to pull, he found out quickly that he had to pay attention. I even had stack in my leash. Something I haven't had in a long time.
He wore it all day yesterday and was very docile. But, when we took it off, he was fine and he let us put it on him without any trouble. He did try to rub it off, but other than that have had no other problems. I read that dogs that resist it the most, need it the most. Must have been true in his case. Now, I have sweet Joey back!
